On the 5th of August, 2024, An Se Young made history by winning the women's singles Olympic title, becoming Korea's first Olympic champion in that discipline since 1996. It should have been a time for celebration, both for An Se Young, the BKA, and the Korean people. However, in the press conference immediately afterwards An Se Young dropped a bombshell, criticising the BKA for neglect, mismanagement of an injury as well as a few other things. This caused a firestorm of media attention as well as an investigation into the BKA by the Korean government. What was unearthed was nothing short of shocking. Embezzlement, collusion with sponsors and a culture of bullying. All of this, combined with An Se Young's ongoing injury, made An Se Young’s return to international competition all the more interesting. And well, let's just say after the Denmark Open there is plenty to talk about, now and into the future... Which is exactly what I'll do in this video.
