Peter Nygard, Canadian fashion mogul, found guilty on 4 of 5 counts of sexual assault

On the fifth day of deliberations after a six-week trial, Canadian fashion mogul Peter Nygard was found guilty of four out of five charges of sexual assault in a Toronto courthouse on Sunday. During the trial, five complainants testified they were sexually assaulted after being invited to Nygard’s Toronto headquarters for reasons spanning from job interviews to tours. Among many others seeking justice, Nygard’s own son, Kai Nygard, appeared at the Toronto court on Sunday. Kai blew the whistle on his father back in 2019. The 82-year-old pleaded not guilty to all charges, but was only acquitted on the fifth count. Court is set to resume on Nov. 21, where a date for sentencing will be decided.
