Finally, after all these years, aquiring two of these receivers, I have what one might consider rare, a Uniden CTCSS decoder board for a Pro-2036. The installation was easy (eight screws are *missing) and a bit of cleaning, the radios were reinstalled. Easy "programming" with the help of manuallib.com. Successful test at the very end. Sure, I get it. Most of the time I do run all scanners as CSQ but, for the rare occasion I can now restrict channels to a certain few, specific stations to separate one group from others on any given channel/service. Yes, many scanner receivers already have this feature installed, as do portable transceivers. The era of this radio, this was an option, so much so that it wasn't desirable enough, perhaps eventually included instead of sold separately. I'm guessing the only draw back which also was included in later models is alpha characters. I'm okay with that because I'd like to know the frequency first, then referencing a hand written list, later. Keeps me on my feet. Don't get me wrong, one day I may venture into those kinds of full featured radios, later.
