Japa is the mainstay of every practitioner, and anyone who takes it seriously, starting with the idea that no matter what every day, "I always finish my prescribed number of rounds." Anyone who thinks like that is a high-level sādhaka, and anyone who does that without fail will make advancement in devotional service without any doubt. So this is "Make japa great again!" And it means make it great again. Even if it was great yesterday, you have to start over again today and make it great today. Every day is a compartmentalized unit, and we can't rely on the past. We have to say, "Today is the day when it's going to be great." So, knowing that we're authorized by the great ācāryas, all of them recommend, "ei mukta-kaler upasyamānam," all the liberated personalities recommend chanting Hare Krishna. The śāstra recommends chanting Hare Krishna.
