Always wanted to learn new things about the inside of the offset printing press? In this series, we highlight a new feature of this popular printing technique every week! In short, the offset printing process involves two key elements: A printing plate on which the image to be printed (imposition) is exposed; A rubber blanket that transfers the image onto the final sheet. For each new printing sheet, the ink residues need to be removed from the rubber blankets. This is where the #washingunit comes in. The washing unit contains a cleaning towel that removes all the ink of the rubber blanket.
