A Look at Mole Miner Pale RNG - Opening 110 Pails | Fallout 76

Hello Wastelanders, Today's video is dedicated to the Mole Miner Pails and checking the RNG. The Locked and Loaded update added new items to the loot pool so naturally I set out hunting for pails with this past weekends Treasure Hunter Event. After rounding up quite a few and being disappointed with my results, I decided it was experimentation time. I rounded up 110 Mole Miner Pails. 70 Dusty Pails, 30 Regular Pails, and 10 Ornate Pails. From there it was time to take an inventory so I could determine just how lucky or unlucky I was. Don't worry I'm not going to make you sit through the scrolling loot display to see what I got. I've put together detailed tables to show you just what the results are. Most of you will be most interested in the RNG percentage for the Apparel and the Plans, since these categories bring the most sought after rewards. Unfortunately I have bad news, the RNG is terrible. I only had a 2% drop rate for Apparel items, and only a slightly better 8% RNG. The only explanation I can come up with for these terrible RNG rates is that the Dev's want this to be a grind. They run this event at least once a month, so I'm sure they want it to continue to have relevance up to the next refresh. I can see this being a good strategy if everyone spent countless hours playing, but the casual player ends up the loser with this strategy. Appaled by the results, and still needing the plan for the Boquet of Stars Balloon Plans, I decided to give the RNG of the Crafted Pails a try. The results of the crafted pails was night and day to the ones I collected from the Treasure Hunters theyselves. I only had 13 crafted pails, 1 dusty, 6 regular, and 6 ornate. That being said, the RNG was significantly better for even this small test pool. I ended with a 15% drop rate for Apparel and 38 % drop rate for the rare plans. So what can we learn from this experiment? First the RNG for the collected plans is terrible. You're going to really have to grind to get everything thats available, or make the best of trading. Second, the crafted pails are a much better option for collecting the rewards with a significant increase in drop rate. And lastly, the rewards are worth more than you think. With the new rewards adding to the loot pool, its even harder to end up with them as rewards. Keep this in mind as you go about trading the rewards to other players or putting at low sale price in for them in your vendor. What to you think about the results of our experiment?
