Various of people fleeing with their belongings STORYLINE: Palestinians in areas of Gaza City were once again leaving behind their homes after the Israeli army issued an evacuation order on Thursday. The order called on people in parts of northern Gaza to move to shelters in the western side of Gaza City. Displaced resident Alaa Obaid said he had been forced to flee ten times during the war and now has no money or shelter. Meanwhile, a woman evacuating along the same road, carrying a heavy load on her head, was seen crying and calling out to God for help. AP footage shows people walking in muddy streets next to donkey carts carrying their belongings that include blankets and mattresses among other items. Some were carrying heavy loads on their backs while others pushed wheeled carts and trolleys, and a few others used cars for transportation. Mohammad Ermana, 72, clasped his wife's hand as they evacuated together, each relying on a cane and carrying nothing. "We can’t walk. Me and my wife have been walking for three hours covering one kilometer. I’m going to search for shelter. I’m searching for shelter every hour now not every day," he said. Israel has issued sweeping evacuation orders for parts of northern Gaza ahead of expected ground operations, which the U.N. says have forcibly displaced around 280,000 Palestinians since the ceasefire broke down last month. The fresh evacuation orders came a day after senior government officials said Israel said it would seize large parts of the Palestinian territory and establish a new security corridor across it. Israel has imposed a month-long halt on all imports of food, fuel and humanitarian aid that has left civilians facing acute shortages as supplies dwindle.
