Mortal Kombat X: Nightmare On Elm Street Easter Eggs & References! (Mortal Kombat 10)

Surprisingly, Freddy Krueger is referenced inside of Mortal Kombat X a few times in these Easter eggs! Freddy Krueger from MK9 appears to have influenced several fatalities inside of Mortal Kombat X. Of those, there's 2 in particular that really caught my attention and are being displayed inside of this video. For starters, you a one of Kenshi's fatalities called, "Puppet Master," where he controls his opponent, like a puppet, using their tendons. Afterwards, Kenshi finishes off his opponent by dropping him to his death, face first. This exact same death occurs inside of the 3rd Nightmare on Elm Street film, but on a grander scale. Inside the film, Freddy Krueger uses the tendons of his victim to carry him onto a bell-tower, only to drop him hundreds of feet onto his face, leading to his death in the film. Coincidence? I really don't think so, especially considering how NetherRealm Studios has done stuff like this in the past to pay homage to several of their influences. The same can be said about the Brotherhood of Shadow Faction Kill that is showcased. In the first film Freddy Krueger stars in, a similar death occurs to Johnny Depp's character. All in all, it's cool seeing things like this from Ed Boon and the crew. These are just 2 of a few instances where they do in fact reference a former guest character in the Mortal Kombat franchise, and horror-icon, Freddy Krueger.
