The Dunn Museum in Libertyville has opened a new gallery and launched Alex Ross: Heroes & Villains as its first special exhibition. Visitors will experience never-before-seen artwork by the celebrated artist, including portraits of The Joker and Harley Quinn created by Ross just for the show. Known for a realistic painting style of classic comic book characters, Ross brings the comic world into fine art. Using the gouache painting technique, Ross brings heroes and villains from the Marvel and DC universes to life with renowned realism. Alex Ross: Heroes & Villains features more than 100 pieces of art in a compilation of the artist’s work representing more than two decades of his career.
