Day 3 & 4 in Bimini did not go as planned — in the best way possible. We started the day heading out to feed stingrays… but the sharks decided to join us too. 🦈😅 Totally unexpected, totally wild. Then we explored one of the most iconic shipwrecks in the Bahamas: the SS Sapona, a massive concrete freighter that now sits half-sunken above crystal-clear turquoise water. Inside the wreck, we snorkeled through coral-covered hallways, schools of fish, and surreal shadows from the ship’s skeletal frame. Easily one of the most unforgettable moments of the trip. In this video you’ll see: ✔ Stingray feeding up-close ✔ A VERY unexpected shark encounter ✔ The sunken SS Sapona from above and below ✔ Snorkeling inside the wreck ✔ Family adventures across Bimini ✔ Beautiful ocean shots, drone footage, and more Thanks for being part of That Daraban Life — the adventure continues! 📘 Quick Info on the SS Sapona The SS Sapona was a concrete-hulled cargo steamer built during World War I. After the war, it was sold to private owners and used for storage, rum-running, and various odd jobs. In 1926, a powerful hurricane pushed the ship onto a shallow reef near Bimini, where it became permanently grounded. Today, the wreck sits partially above water and is one of the most famous snorkeling and diving spots in the Bahamas — known for crystal visibility, tropical fish, coral growth, and its dramatic rusted metal frame. The adventure continues — and we’re glad you’re here for it.
