America's cartridge the .30-06 Springfield. The 175 grain Federal Terminal Ascent shot very well at 1,000 yards. I only had one box so I took it straight to a thousand after a 95 yard zero (0.4" 3 shot group) with 150 grain Hornady American Whitetail. When I get more I want to shoot a 100 yard group with the Terminal Ascents. The Remington 700 Long Range also shot well at ranges it was designed for. The only downside is that the rifle is heavy. I wouldn't want to take it on a backcountry hunt. I also demonstrate how you can chamber a .270 Winchester in a .30-06 rifle if you're not careful.
