Telemedicine Benefits & Limitations – HIGHLIGHTS COVID-19 forced the widespread use telemedicine. Is it here to stay? Three doctors, a therapist, and a medical administrator discuss the benefits and limitations. Panelists Kelley Withy, MD, PhD, is Professor of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) and the Director of the Hawaii/Pacific Basin Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Dr. Men-Jean Lee completed her OBGYN residency at Northwestern University and a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Rochester. She is the Kosasa Endowed Professor and Chief of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at JABSOM and the Medical Director of the Fetal Diagnostic Center at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children. Wendy Nakasone, is VP, Consumer Health Solutions, Hawai’i Medical Service Association (HMSA). She is responsible for driving HMSA’s consumer and health platform technology solutions, including telehealth. Moderator Ira Zunin, MD, MPH, is Assistant Clinical Professor at the John A. Burns School of Medicine, Department of Complementary and Alternative Medicine. He is medical director of Manakai O Malama Integrative Clinic.
