At Defense Tech Valley 2025, we spoke with Austin Howard from Shield AI about their key systems showcased in Ukraine. D4 strike drone — with a 100 km range and 3 kg payload, it relies on optical navigation and autonomous targeting, eliminating the need for GPS or communication links. The system has been field-tested and validated, with frontline deployment underway. Current production is 500–1,000 units per month, with scaling in progress. V-BAT ISR drone — a vertical take-off reconnaissance platform already used by Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces. It provides high-resolution day/night imaging and laser designation, resistant to jamming, and can coordinate strikes with Ukrainian partners. ViDAR Pod — a wide-area surveillance system capable of detecting vehicles, individuals, and maritime objects, adding powerful sensing capabilities to UAVs and helicopters.
