INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 7-14-25 9:07 PM LOCATION: SB 15 Freeway, South of Hodge Rd. AREA/CITY: Barstow DETAILS: On July 14th, 2025, at about 9:07, CHP received a call of a vehicle stopped in the slow lane of the Southbound 15 Freeway, just South of Hodge Road in Barstow. A Good Samaritan had stopped and used a spotlight to illuminate the stalled car, hoping that the other vehicles would see it. Unfortunately, a semi-truck failed to notice the vehicle and crashed into it from behind, causing significant damage. CHP, County Fire, and Desert Ambulance arrived at the scene and attempted CPR on the driver of the sedan. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The semi-truck driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The truck of the vehicle was crushed into the back seat due to the extreme force of the impact.
