In this video, Dr. David L. Diehl, Director of Interventional Endoscopy at Geisinger Medical Center, showcases his piecemeal resection technique utilizing STERIS’s COINTIP™ Snare. Snare tip soft coagulation (STSC) helps to reduce the risk of residual polyps being left behind by burning the edges of the polyp. The COINTIP Snare can be used for hot and cold snare polypectomy procedures. The snare features a thin distal wire to allow precise cutting capabilities, while the double catheter design reduces the risk of catheter buckling. Additionally, the COINTIP Snare features three shapes to aid in various polyp removals: a 20mm deltoid snare, a 10mm hexagonal snare, and a 6mm diamond snare. Dr. Diehl uses the distal tip of the COINTIP Snare loop for soft coagulation to touch up the edges around the polyp – helping reduce the risk of residual polyp following resection. With dual indication for both hot and cold use, the COINTIP Snare’s braided wire and coined distal tip provide a solution for complex polypectomy procedures.
