In this video, we'll spend 48 hours in Hiroshima in our quest of finding the "Real Japan". We’ll show you how to visit locations such as Miyajima Island and the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Itsukushima Shrine. We’ll take you to the Hiroshima Castle, perfectly manicured Japanese Gardens, and finally, we’ll visit Ground Zero for one of the worst tragedies in human history. Hiroshima was originally founded in 1589 as a castle town on the Ota River Delta. The neighboring Miyajima island is a UNESCO World Heritage site and well known for Itsukushima Shrine - the 'floating torii gate' that majestically reaches a height of more than fifty feet above the water. Unfortunately, Hiroshima is also famous for the much darker history of being ground zero for the first atomic bomb ever dropped.
