The Lok Warsaw or Heritage Museum, also known as "Heritage Museum Islamabad", which was established in 1974, had a total area of 20,000 square feet. Since the renovation in 2004, it has grown to 60,000 square feet. The museum is located in Shakir Pariyan, Islamabad. The museum not only represents all four provinces residential traditions, culture and heritage, but is an asset to new generations. In this technologically advanced world where many changes are taking place in culture and living traditions, our new generation can observe the old traditions of their ancestors which are represented in this museum. Starting today, we are launching a vlog series on tourist attractions, hotels, leisure and food in Islamabad and surroundings. You are watching the first video of the series. The primary purpose of the museum is to educate and edify present and future generations of Pakistan and to create a treasure house for the nation more valuable than the vault of any bank in the world as our culture is our identity. The Heritage Museum is the first state museum of ethnology in Pakistan which presents the history and living traditions of the people of Pakistan both from the mainstream and the remotest regions of the country. Handicraft, mud made Vessels, folk stories, folk music and art pieces from neighboring countries like Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Azerbaijan are represented too. There are some souvenir shops where you can buy cultural gifts. However, the best time to purchase these monuments is at the Heritage Museum's annual festival. If you are a resident of Pakistan or you are interested in Pakistani culture then you should definitely visit this museum.
