Filmed in early January 2021. Another clip from the road trip over to help Cousin Gary out with some "purdy" nice and also fairly tall Douglas Fir trees in a backyard setting. Urban falling if you will. Had it been gunned straight on at the house, it might just have scared the car port a little. A few of the bigger trees had 4 40s in them. Second tree in this "strip" with the Iconic 2100 CD Husqvarna after the 088 recoil assembly had acted up straight out of the gate. I'm kind of glad the 088 glitched a little. A bit more run time on the mighty 2100 for me and definitely testing the accuracies of gunning sights. Seems to me that they are pretty spot on.... In the beginning we can see that it was leaning right over the vehicle/boat storage shed - as verified by the plumb line. As to not be beatin' my guts out and because the excavator was right there, a nice little assist from Gary! As we watched me working on the stump, we see the bore cut through the tree as close to perpendicular to the shot as a mere mortal can get. The hinge was gapped at the front as well. The bore cut went down into the stump a little. This lets the hinge wood move forward before the face closes and also lets the hinge pivot a bit as/during the deck is making contact with the bias/diagonal/bevel cut. It doesn't matter if it's a Farmer's Face (overhand), Saginaw (where the cuts are both beveled slightly), Modified Humboldt, or the TRUE Humboldt undercuts. Now we watched my Cousin be quite excited that I missed the first stump cluster in the 3rd log. Basically rubbed the bark off the bole. He says I got lucky. I say God was smiling on this whole operation. The wood pull is a testimony as to the height and that these trees have been doing their best in fighting against the wind. We did a lot of videoing this day. There was an operation that went awry, as with all things this world. Every job has to have at least one "whoops" session, as I'm only human... Guest star - Husqvarna 2100 CD. Sportin a "real" 42" bar - not the Stihl version shorty that's more like 40". Was was eluding to this ~ the :30 mark in the video. Oregon full skip chisel chain, pretty new. This was my first attempt a getting the chain dialed in. It cuts decently all things considered. I super grateful that Cuz made the call for an assist. We actually had a lot of fun, lived to tell, AND never wrecked any real property. I'm currently available for custom saw modifications. Please shoot me an email if you are interested. danger_cat@rocketmail.com Thanks for watching. Hello and thanks for watching. As per usual, there is refinement in the description area. As per normal, I suggest taking a look.
