Silver Glitter & Pink Glitter Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) – Cutting & Fusing Process Glitter HTV is a fantastic way to add sparkle and shine to fabric projects. The process for cutting and fusing Silver Glitter and Pink Glitter HTV follows the same basic steps but requires careful attention to detail to ensure the best results. 1. Materials & Tools Needed ✔ Silver Glitter HTV / Pink Glitter HTV ✔ Cutting Machine (Silhouette Cameo, Cricut, Graphtec, etc.) ✔ Weeding Tool ✔ Heat Press Machine / Iron ✔ Teflon Sheet or Parchment Paper ✔ Fabric (Cotton, Polyester, or Cotton-Poly Blends) 2. Cutting Process Step 1: Load the HTV into the Cutting Machine Place the Glitter HTV on the cutting mat with the shiny side (carrier sheet) facing down and the dull side (vinyl) facing up. Ensure that the material is properly aligned on the mat to prevent shifting. Step 2: Adjust Cutting Settings Set your cutting machine based on the type of Glitter HTV you are using: For Cameo4 Machines: Blade Type: Fine-Point Blade (or Deep-Point Blade for thicker glitter) Cut Pressure: High Speed: Medium Blade Depth: 4-6 (test cut recommended) Mirror Mode: ON (Since HTV is applied in reverse) For Silhouette Cameo: Blade: 4-6 Speed: 4 Force: 33-35 Passes: 1-2 Mirror Mode: ON Step 3: Perform a Test Cut Always do a test cut to check if the blade settings are correct. The cut should go through the vinyl but leave the carrier sheet intact. Step 4: Weed the Excess Vinyl Use a weeding tool to remove the unwanted vinyl, leaving only your design. Be careful with small details to avoid lifting essential parts. 3. Heat Press / Fusing Process Step 1: Prepare the Fabric Preheat your fabric by pressing it for 3-5 seconds to remove wrinkles and moisture. Ensure the fabric is clean and smooth. Step 2: Position the HTV Design Place your weeded design on the fabric with the shiny carrier sheet facing up. Ensure the design is properly aligned. Step 3: Heat Press Settings Machine Type Temperature Time Pressure Heat Press Machine 160-170°C (320-340°F) 12-15 seconds Medium to Firm Home Iron Cotton Setting (No Steam) 20-30 seconds per section Firm Pressure Cover with a Teflon sheet or parchment paper to protect the vinyl. Apply firm, even pressure while pressing. Step 4: Peel the Carrier Sheet Glitter HTV is usually a hot peel or warm peel, so remove the carrier sheet while it’s still warm. If any edges lift, press again for 5-7 seconds. 4. Post-Press Care Instructions ✔ Wait 24-48 hours before washing. ✔ Wash inside out in cold water (mild detergent, no bleach). ✔ Do not use fabric softener. ✔ Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry. ✔ Avoid ironing directly over the design. By following these steps, you can successfully cut and fuse Silver Glitter & Pink Glitter HTV to create vibrant, long-lasting designs with a sparkling finish!
