Our recent camping excursion led us to the serene haven of Kleine Eike Farm, nestled just 10 km from Greyton in the picturesque Western Cape, merely a scenic 2-hour drive from Cape Town. Accessible via a well-maintained gravel road, this enchanting retreat offers a spectacular panorama, with verdant farmlands and majestic mountains embracing you from all angles. In winter, you might even catch a glimpse of snow-capped peaks, adding an extra touch of magic to your stay. Pricing at Kleine Eike is reasonable, at R720 per night for up to 4 guests, and the best part? Dogs are warmly welcomed at no additional cost. Each campsite has electrical points equipped with standard 3-point sockets, ensuring a hassle-free experience. What sets this campground apart is its thoughtful consideration for tranquility, with gentle background music permitted until 10:00 pm, allowing for peaceful evenings under the starlit sky. The campsites themselves are generously sized and adorned with lush green lawns, offering a comfortable retreat. Positioned along the banks of the Riversonderend River, so remember to pack your tubes in. Complete with picnic tables and portable braais, all campsites provide the essentials for a delightful outdoor feast—just remember to bring your own grid. The ablutions are stunning with ample facilities and are kept in immaculate conditions. The bathrooms had toilet paper so no need to bring along. There are wash basins can be found behind the ablutions block for your kitchen dishes Convenience is key at Kleine Eike, with an honesty shop on-site offering ice and wood for your campfire needs. Wood is priced at R40 per bag, while ice can be acquired for R20 per bag—located conveniently within the female bathroom. As for activities • There are running trails on the farm that are marked well. The red trail is the longer route of 6km while the red trail is 5km. You get to jog alongside the river and apple orchids. It is a very easy trail with some areas with thick sand to add to the challenge. • For Mountain biking we would suggest leaving the farm and rather going to do one of the marked routes on the link bellow : https://www.greytonmtb.co.za/ • Hiking is very popular around Greyton’s area bellow are the top 7 trails Boesmankloof Hiking Trail.
