Parbhani, Maharashtra, August 1, 2025: The Qureshi community in Maharashtra has launched a statewide movement, taking to the streets to demand justice. This comes in response to alleged bans on their traditional profession (meat trade) under cow protection laws, and a surge in attacks, mob lynching incidents, and harassment by extremist organizations targeting community traders. Today, a memorandum was submitted to the District Officer in Parbhani by the Jamiat-ul-Qureshi Samaj Vikas Sangathan. The community demanded protection for their traditional meat business, along with social, economic, and educational development.
