This is not the best explanation I've given, so let me try to clarify a bit in the description here. Instead of thinking of this like an #EnglishGrammar problem by focusing on the preposition, just think about the overall statement you want to say. If you're "on time", you're not late. If you're "not on time", you're late. So, do you want to make a statement about being late or not? More examples: I wasn't on time today. I'll be sure to be on time from now on. (I was late today. I won't be late again.) If you want to talk about "in time", think about the context of being WITHIN a certain timeframe. If a train leaves at 3:00-- and if you get to the station any time before 3:00-- THEN you made it in time. Yes, you are also on time because you're not late. But "on time" is the simple focus of being late or not. Being "in time" is the nuance where we give a little more attention about the time range. If you want to make it easier on yourself, don't worry about using "in time"! #englishlesson #learnenglish #englishvocabulary #grammarlesson #idioms #englishlanguage #englishgrammar #englishphrases #languagelearning #esl #englishidioms #vocabulary #englishwords #englishexpressions #englishforbeginners https://www.commdao.com / commdao
