Welcome to The Bra Fitting Seminar with Esteem Lingerie! Hello ladies, and thank you for joining us this afternoon. My name is Angela O'Brien, and I’m the co-owner of Esteem Lingerie in West Kelowna, alongside my wonderful mother, Florenda Pickett Our journey began with my mother’s expertise as a custom bra maker. Through her experience, she discovered that most women don't need custom bras—they just need the right fit and proper education on selecting the best bra for their body. 🛍️ Our Mission At Esteem Lingerie, our primary goal is to help women stop wasting money on poorly fitting bras. A bad bra can feel like a medieval torture device, impacting your comfort, health, self-esteem, and confidence. We aim to provide valuable education and bring awareness to bra fitting through our video blogs and social media presence. 📚 Bra Fitting Myths and Facts Myth #1: Standardized Sizing • There's no standardized sizing in the garment industry. Myth #2: The Misleading Number and Letter System • The number in bra sizing indicates the band measurement, while the letter indicates the cup size. • Fun Fact: A 32D, 36D, and 42D are different in cup size despite sharing the same letter. Myth #3: Underwire Bras Are Uncomfortable • An ill-fitting underwire bra can indeed be uncomfortable, but a well-fitted one offers 75% of your breast support. Myth #4: Shoulder Straps Support the Breasts • Shoulder straps should only contribute 5% to the support, mainly to keep the top part of the cups firm against your body. 📏 The Perfect Fit: Tips and Techniques Measuring for the Band: • Measure under the breasts at the smallest part of your torso. • Add 1-2 inches to this measurement to determine your band size. The Stoop, Scoop, Swoop, and Jiggle Technique: • Stoop: Lean forward to let gravity help settle breast tissue into the cup. • Scoop: Use your opposite hand to scoop breast tissue from under your arms into the cup. • Swoop: Adjust by lifting and swooping your breasts to ensure they're properly placed. • Jiggle: Gently jiggle to settle everything into place. 🌟 Bra Types and Their Importance Formed Cup Bras: • Designed for standing still, these can gap or cut if you move around a lot. Spacer Fabric Bras: • Made of quilted fabric layers that wick, breathe, and dry quickly, offering a more flexible fit. Seamed Lace Bras: • Mold to your body and provide long-lasting support. Lace and tulle are strong
