There are two stages to the Head Teacher's duties when excluding a pupil: 1. The Legal Test: When making a decision to exclude a pupil, the Head Teacher will have to abide by the legal test for exclusion. This is dealt with in more depth in another video (*Coming Soon*) 2. Procedural Duties: After taking a decision to exclude, there are some things the Head Teacher must do, such as notifying parents. If this is not done, the exclusion may be unlawful. Also discussed in this video is the situation in which a pupil is under investigation by the police. ------- 00:00 - Intro 00:27 - The legal test for exclusion 00:56 - After the decision to exclude: the correct procedure - including what must be included in a letter to the parents or guardians at 1:39 04:36 - Where the police are involved ------- RELATED VIDEOS: What happens while I am excluded? • What happens while I am excluded? | Unders...
