After settling in, we had an unexpected encounter with a black bear en route to the Gatlinburg Space Needle! The city lights at night were pure magic from the top of the Space Needle! The following day, we stepped back in time to explore Elkmont's ghost town, a former logging camp, with buildings dating back to the 1800s. We then embraced nature on the Elkmont Nature Trail, enjoying the vibrant bird activity and lush surroundings. Our journey led us to the hauntingly fascinating ruins of the Wonderland Hotel, built in 1911. Once a magnet for tourists, this now-ruined hotel remains a testament to its grand past. We wrapped up our adventure with some stunning daytime views from the top of the Space Needle!
