When we did a busk session in Dublin this song delivered what it promises; it was one heck of a party with people from all different backgrounds dancing together on the street. Trinity street treasures the past and at the same time propels us forward to a future. A hopeful leap in to the years ahead. With a childlike trust and heartfelt wonder we look for God in friend and stranger and in his first incarnation: creation. Trinity Street is an invitation to join the crazy family. This eclectic world-pop group Trinity, based in the Netherlands, has always had an Irish twist in their sound and lyrics. The fun-loving, acoustic approach and party-making craftsmanship is something they’re known for at many festivals throughout Europe. (Also at creation Fest in Pennsylvania by the way). The three brothers in the band started off as missionary kids in Peru from which they hauled the folkloric andino south american vibes. When they formed Trinity in their high school years with Bert they would never have thought that they would still be writing and touring as family daddies in their late thirty’s. ‘As 16 year olds we would go to Ireland every summer to work on a farm and do mission work along the coast. Over the years we’ve become good friends with the Morrisons at Hartwell, which is the beautiful name of the farm near Dublin and the Wicklow Mountains. We decided to pay them a visit and write new songs which resulted in this folky new album’, explains Elbert, lead singer of the band. ‘We sat down with Grammy Award nominated, multiple Dove Award winning producer Ian Eskelin from Nashville on FaceTime with us, to optimise lyrics and arrangements while we were basking in the springtime sun, overlooking the meadows where lambs were racing back and forth. In the distance we could see the snowy peaks of the Wicklow Mountains. The peety smell of the land, combined with an ale to toast on our memories and our future together.
