Noh is traditional Japanese theater that was established in the 14th Century. Toru is a play about a monk visiting the ruins of the mansion of Minister Minamoto no Toru (822-895). In his dreams he is visited by the ghost of Minister Toru who is remembering the past under the Autumn Moon. Shimokitazawa in recent years puts up a scale model of the Moon during the Autumn Moon season. There's art, performances, and food around the area. I caught the end of a Noh play in front of the moon model. The Noh performance is held close to the Autumn Equinox. #japan #dance #theater
