Do you know that since banning national legal trade in rhino horn in February 2009 the rhino crisis began to escalate in South Africa? John Hume -- as a private rhino conservator with 21 years of wildlife management experience during same time has managed to save 911 rhinos and has contributed to the world's rhino population by over 500 new born rhinos. After he tragically lost nine rhinos to poachers John Hume had to think of a plan how could he protect the rest of his rhino population from been poached. The solution came from the knowledge that rhinos don't have to be killed to get their horns because rhino horn is 100% keratin like human's nails and not a bone and it can be done by harvesting horn which is non-harmful to the rhino . In 5 years with performing over 1000 harvesting horn of his rhinos he had zero rhino's death during the procedure. John Hume is self-funded and his income was derived from private business ventures in timeshare resorts. Currently, he does not earn an income from his wildlife rhino sanctuary. Meanwhile, it is a chilling but unfortunately inescapable fact that literally hundreds of vociferous self-congratulatory "Save the Rhino" charitable animal rights organizations have failed miserably to stop or even make any impact whatsoever on the numbers of Rhino poached over the last five years in South Africa. Despite huge monetary donations made to these organizations in good faith by a horrified public, effectively zero impact has been made in stopping vicious criminal syndicates from afar. They have ordered and paid for the callous, sickening and inhumane poaching of over two thousand Rhinos in South Africa during the last five years of the Rhino war. While they failed to stop the poaching these organizations and various individuals constantly criticize private rhino conservators for advocating a legal trade in rhino horn, even though this will mean that rhinos will NOT been KILLED to provide the horn. There is over 5000 rhinos in South Africa in private conservation which is more than in the rest of Africa and it's been proven that private rhino conservators know how to save the rhino! CITES ban on international trade in rhino horn which been in place for 36 years did not stop the rhino poaching and completely failed to reduce demand for horn. It only resulted in thousands of rhino deaths and some rhino species extinction! We have to realize that demand for horn won't go away but rhinos will if we'll continue banning legal trade from harvesting horn and keeping rhinos alive. After all there is a demand for rhino horn not for rhino life! More info on rhino story-www.rhinodotcom.com More video on rhino crisis - www.facebook/AfricaCriesFilmProduction
