Sharing circles are an essential part of the oral traditions of our Indigenous communities. We learn about our culture, and the old ways, when our Elders, families, friends, and community members join the circle… and share their stories… their experiences… and their wisdom. We embrace the Sharing Circle process, because it allows us to work with families, to keep them together… and to find solutions that are child and family focused, that create healthy children, strong families, and hope for the future. In part 2 we’ll explore Customary Care, and the process of developing a Customary Care Agreement.
