The prior version of Google Analytics had a super useful feature that let you track events that may impact your GA data. Things like campaign launches, site outages, etc. All stuff that you might forget about when you're looking back at your data and trying to remember why traffic spiked, or dropped, or why sales were up. However, when Google launched GA4, annotations were no longer available, forcing people to manually keep track of these events, or use third party plugins. Fortunately, annotations are back!
