All of our rooms and apartments offer a high level of comfort in a modern environment. Hotel Asterias has a super restaurant directly overlooking a pretty corner of Limenaria Beach. The restaurant offers a cool shady retreat from the hot summer sun. We serve traditional Greek cuisine, using the finest ingredients available, locally sourced if possible. The restaurant is open all day and night and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Restaurant Asterias Restaurant Asterias is located on Limenaria Beach, next door to Hotel Asterias. We are open all day and offer authentic Greek cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The setting is ideal and offers a shady place to relax right on the beach. We have a full menu including vegetarian, fresh fish and seafood, meat and salad dishes, and of course a large range of mezes or appetisers. We also have a good selection of wines, beers, ouzo and tsipouro to enjoy with your meal. All of our meals follow traditional recipes are made from the finest ingredients. Wherever possible we use local produce, including meat, fish, cheeses and vegetables. Our dishes are guaranteed to satisfy! Enjoy your meal right by the sea. Location Limenaria on the southern shores of Thassos Island offers a peaceful haven for travellers. Limenaria is the second largest town on the island and has something for everyone! The friendly locals will go out of their way to help you with whatever you may need. If you do not want to travel far but want everything, Limenaria is the place for you, restaurants, supermarkets, bars, patisseries, cafes, car and bike rentals, banks and a whole lot more are within a short distance of Hotel Asterias and Villa Kostas. Limenaria Beach stretches for nearly 3 kilometres, from the harbour with its colourful fishing boats overlooked by the impressive Palataki building all the way to Tripiti at its western end. On the other side of the hill with the Palataki is the famous Metalleia Beach, 100 years ago it was a working mine and smelting site, today it is a wonderful ‘art’ beach with hundreds of nooks and crannies and art works to explore. Or simply enjoy the shallow turquoise waters and sandy beach. A couple of kilometres further to the east will find you in Pefkari and Potos. Pefkari has one of the 7 Blue Flag beaches which bless Thassos Island. Potos is known as the village which doesn’t sleep and has dozens of bars and restaurants along its waterfront. Thassos is only accessible by ferry boat and has two ports, Skala Prinos and Limenas (Thassos Town) which are serviced from Kavala and Keramoti on the mainland. From Kavala… The ferry from Kavala runs to Skala Prinos and has a journey time of one and a quarter hours with a maximum of 5 sailings per day in the summer. When you arrive in Skala Prinos you will travel by either car or bus to Limenaria which is 23 kilometres away. Turn right at the ring road at Skala Prinos and continue past Prinos, Skala Sotiros, Skala Kallirachis, Skala Maries and Tripiti until you reach Limenaria. At the main crossroad turn right and at the bottom of the road right again, along the seafront, Hotel Asterias is 50 metres along this road. From Keramoti… From Keramoti port the ferry boat arrives at Limenas (Thassos Town), the capital of Thassos Island. The journey time is 35 minutes and there are regular sailings, normally every half an hour during the summer. From Limenas, car or bus, turn right at the ring road and follow the signs for Prinos from there it is the same as the above directions (Kavala/Skala Prinos). By aeroplane… The closest airport to Thassos is Kavala Airport (Megas Alexandros Airport) which is close to Chrisoupolis just 17 km’s from the port of Keramoti. There is an all year round daily service to Athens and during the summer hosts charter flights from all over Europe.
