Join me on this very unique kayaking journey to Shooters Island off the coast between Staten Island, NYC and New Jersey. On the shores of the island, I explored and discovered a world of abandoned ruins and unfortunately, an abundance of trash and debris. The island was once a bustling industrial hub, home to shipyards, and factories. George Washington and his Continental Army even used this island as a drop off point for messages. Today, all that remains are crumbling foundations, overgrown machinery, and ghostly remnants of the past. This was such a fun kayaking / urbex combo trip. I hope you enjoy it!
