SRS 2020 - Johannes Bonatti on the Potential of New Robotic Devices for Heart Surgery
At the 2020 World Robotic Symposium of the Society of Robotic and Digital Surgery (www.srobotics.org) experienced robotic heart surgeons met to discuss the current state of the art of robotically assisted, minimally invasive cardiac surgery. Currently coronary bypass surgery, mitral valve repair and replacement, ASD closure, myxoma resection, and procedures for treatment of cardiac arrhythmias are carried out with robotic assistance. Dr. Johannes Bonatti, cardiac surgeon from Vienna/Austria gave a perspective on what the new surgical robots (Transenterix Senhance, CMR Versius, Titan SPORT, Medtronic Hugo, SSI Mantra, and the VERB Surgical platform) can offer for heart surgery as compared to the daVinci system of Intuitive.
