This is the 3rd day of our 7 day Trip to the grand canyon power rafting Miles 61.7 - The Little Colorado River (LCR), with blue water, when not in flood, offers the canyon traveler a few very enjoyable side adventures, The mouth of the river offers full summer sun at lunchtime, while in winter there is cold shade here at noon. Stay close to the left shore as you approach the mouth of the LCR, or the current here may sweep you downstream. Boats are no longer allowed to enter the Little Colorado, so don't pull around the corner. Swimming on the left (south) side of the Little Colorado is not allowed from March through November to protect endangered fish species. If you must cross the creek, do so in the shallow area just downstream from Beamer's Cabin (under the ledge on the south side of the Little Colorado) where the Park Service has marked the crossing with rock cairns.
