We decided to visit the Santa Maria Delle Grazie Church which famously holds The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci... However, the more we learn't about the painting, the less we wanted to see it. Hardly anything of the original painting remains... It suffered moisture damage from being painted on an exterior wall, damage from it's intended protection, damage from moving the painting, damage from French invaders and then many many restoration attempts and a total re-paint. That being said, it was nice to be in the environment in which the work was done and that was enough for us! To see the painting, you need to visit the mosoleum (next door, beside the church), and pay a bit of a fee (See video). To keep the Last Supper painting at the room temperature, a maximum of 25 people can enter the refectory every 15 minutes, so you only get 15 minutes and no cameras allowed!
