I learned this song as a child and it has stuck with me ever since. Hungarian folk music is so special and unique and there are so many different ways in which people try to keep it alive. I wanted to take a new angle with how I interpret this song, with very little instrumental so that the melody gets to shine. I think there is so much treasure in seeing the value of your roots. So many memories to keep alive, people to cherish, stories to tell. Folk songs are amazing for storytelling, it has always been such an intriguing idea to me that there are so many versions of a single song because it was given from one person to another through singing.
