Meditation Mondays is a weekly video series from the Mindful Ecotherapy Center, released every Monday, offering guided mindfulness practices that support stress reduction, emotional regulation, and reconnection with the natural world. This week’s meditation, “Forest Bathing Meditation,” is a guided practice inspired by shinrin-yoku, the Japanese practice of immersive, mindful presence in nature. Whether you are physically outdoors or listening from indoors, this meditation invites you to engage your senses and imagination to cultivate a felt sense of being in a forest environment. Through gentle guidance, you are encouraged to notice sounds, textures, breath, and bodily sensations while imagining the steady, grounding presence of trees and natural rhythms. The practice emphasizes slowing down, softening attention, and allowing the nervous system to settle through connection with nature. This form of mindfulness-based ecotherapy supports restoration, reduces mental fatigue, and helps counter the effects of chronic stress and overstimulation. This meditation may be especially helpful if you feel disconnected from nature, overwhelmed by constant input, or in need of grounding and emotional balance. No prior meditation experience is required. You may practice seated, lying down, or outdoors if conditions allow. New guided practices are released every Monday as part of the Meditation Mondays series by the Mindful Ecotherapy Center.
