The best flavors of a pizza on a burger bun! This simple yet boldly tasty treat is a perfect weeknight dinner when sweating away in the kitchen isn't on your agenda. Pizza Burgers Dish Guide Serves 3-4 Five Ingredients 1 lb ground Italian sausage 20-30 pepperoni 4 slices mozzarella cheese ½ cup pizza sauce (more or less to taste) 4 hamburger buns From the Pantry 1 T olive oil Preheat the oven to 350 F. Form the sausage into 3 or 4 patties (depending on preference) slightly larger than your buns. Put the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet and bring to medium heat. Add in the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on the first side or until browned. Flip burgers and top with 6-8 pepperoni, followed by a spoonful of sauce spread over the pepperoni and then top with a slice of cheese. Place pan in the oven and cook for 6-8 minutes or until sausage is cooked through to 160 degrees F. Allow the patties to rest for 5 minutes and toast the buns in the meantime. Slather more pizza sauce on the toasted bun if desired. Lay on a patty and serve immediately. Add any additional toppings as desired and serve with a side salad or fries.
