Why Do We Love Joe Goldberg?

Joe Goldberg from the hit show YOU has become an internet meme and a low-key heartthrob despite his creepy stalker behavior. Even the actor who plays him seems to be at a loss for why his character has accumulated so many fans who have a crush on Joe. And even viewers who aren't attracted to Joe often find themselves asking, "Wait, why am I rooting for this character?" So why do we love this toxic boy? I'm going to go over nine reasons why we love Joe, some reasons why we obviously shouldn't, and some of the various techniques the show uses to subconsciously make us think of Joe in a positive light. How do you feel about Joe Goldberg? Love him? Hate him? Love to hate him? My feelings are always changing. Sometimes I want him to get away with his crimes the same way I rooted for Walter White and Dexter Morgan, and other times I'm like, nah, I like him but his butt belongs in jail lol.
