Comment here: • Запись Greetings friends, No, this isn’t a story sorry. But it IS a video, and it DOES have me talking to you! I'm afraid our engines stay silent in this video, but hopefully that's alright. I did have plans to do a story for the anniversary, but those plans kept falling through and I went from having plenty of time to none. However, in the end, it didn’t feel right to make a story anyway, so here's something a bit different again. I had a question on my mind and I wanted to take some time to try answer it (with apologies to the innocent person who asked me said question on my Strawpage! Neither you nor I figured this would be my answer). Lots of us have discussed Thomas’ appeal, whether on YouTube or on the Other Platforms. This video’s goal isn’t to find one conclusive appeal – hence the “to me” in the title – but I hope it still provides am answer from my heart. Maybe it’s too much, maybe it’s not enough, but maybe it still makes itself heard. I love Thomas the Tank Engine. This surprises no one. That silly little tank engine has shaped so much of my life and makes every day a bit easier. I imagine you love him too, and a lot of other people who will never see this video do as well. A lot has happened since the 70th anniversary, both in the world of Sodor and our own. So, I decided to take the time to reflect on that. Without a script. Whether that turned out right or wrong is in your hands. With the number of times I repeat the word “incredibly”, I never want to hear that word ever again. But, I suppose that’s part of the point; no matter how messy this is, hopefully it’s still my honest thoughts, without a script holding them back. I want to thank those who have supported me, both from viewers over the years who have been so nice about my work and posts, and of course friends who have reached out to me, brought so much light to my life, and been very, VERY kind. I’ll admit the journey whilst making this video was really bumpy (The Fat Controller will be hearing about this), so it meant a ton that friends were still talking to me whilst I worked on this. Maybe, battered, weary, and almost unbeaten (though the bruises say otherwise), I’ve pulled through with this video. I wouldn’t be here without the kindness you’ve expressed over the years. Thank you all for listening to me ramble, thank you for seeing me as myself, thank you for being here. Thank you. It is genuinely wonderful to think that so many of us have stumbled into each other through our enjoyment of Thomas the Tank Engine. To another 80 years of dry rails, good running, and our beloved really useful engines, - The Demon of Nowhere. It would be remiss of me to not acknowledge the original work of Jamie Paige, and the artists who worked on the “Machine Love (feat. Kasane Teto)” song and video. As someone who has been meaning to step into vocaloid territory, seeing so much love shown for a fictional character was the exact kicker I needed to work on showing my own love to Thomas (Thomas and Teto would probably get along). Obviously, the last portion of the video not only uses Paige’s song, but also takes VERY heavy inspiration from its music video too. Please go support it and its team’s work: • Machine Love (feat. Kasane Teto) (This is also written with apologies to Jamie Paige. I hope you never are burdened with the knowledge someone made a Thomas the Tank Engine music video with your vocaloid song) DISCLAIMERS: This video is intended for viewers older than 13.
