Hi there! 👋 In this video I’m sharing my love for foraging, herbalism and the wonderful season of fall, where vibrant colors, crisp air, and cozy moments invite us to slow down and reconnect with ourselves and the world around us. What You'll Find in This Video: ● A reflection on the beauty and symbolism of autumn and cozy reflections on the grounding and refreshing qualities of fall. ● The health benefits of seasonal foraging, including hawthorn berries and blackberries (did you know they’re great for heart health and stress relief?). ● A simple, plant-based Blackberry Cobbler Recipe inspired by my German Oma’s cooking. 🌟 Don’t forget to like, comment, and share your thoughts. Let me know what you would like to see in upcoming episodes! ▶︎My SocialMedia Instagram: / ilkamcgrady Blackberry Cobbler Recipe: 1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour * 1/2 sugar (and a little to sprinkle on top) 1/4 cup oatmeal * 1 tsp. Baking powder 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon 1 cup plant based unsweetened milk (oil warm it up when using coconut oil) 1/3 cup vegan butter or coconut oil (warmed up to liquid form) 1-3 cups blackberries (depending on you preference - I like mine with lots of blackberries) Instructions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F in a medium bowl wisk together the flour, sugar, oatmeal, baking powder and sugar add milk and mix well add butter (or oil if using) Assemble: pour batter into round baking dish* drop blackberries into the batter and push them down just a little add more berries on top if you like to finish everything off, sprinkle some extra sugar on top Bake: put baking dish in the oven on the middle rack and back for about 30-40 min let the cobble cool a little bit before serving Serve: serve with non dairy vanilla ice cream * or plant based whip cream Notes: Flour: you can use gluten free flour or almond flour, I wouldn’t recommend using coconut flour as that will absorb the liquid to much and make the cobbler too dry Oatmeal: This is totally optional, I like to add it for extra texture (GF oatmeal would work as well) Oil free: for an oil /butter free version, you can use unsweetened applesauce Baking Dish: for one large cobbler use preferably a round 8” dish, I used smaller, single serve ones and had enough batter for three cobblers ‼️Disclaimer / resources: The information about herbs and their healing properties is for educational purposes only. I will be making a video about how to prepare hawthorn berries in various ways soon.
