Hey SOP Fam! I hope you are having an amazing day! Today I am demonstrating how to determine a turnip from a rutabaga. Then I demonstrate how to make two outstanding dishes with each root vegetable. The first is a delicious creamy turnip mash. This dish certainly changes the game if you are interested in eating a low carb dish but keeping the same type of meal. The second is a game changer if you love bread pudding! This delicious rutabaga pudding has all the deliciousness of a bread pudding but not all of the carbs that come with it. These two root vegetables are so versitale, they will change the way you look at eating a carb again. Below are the ingredients you'll need and the instructions. IG: / seasonedonpurpose_ecc3vs1 FB group page: / 1614862082050214 Suggestions for next dish: e-mail: [email protected] **************************** Ingredients Mashed Turnips 2-3 peele and chopped turnips 1-2 tbsp butter 1 tsp monk fruit sugar (optional) 1 tsp granulated sugar (or you can use a total of 2 tbsp of one over the other) 2 tbsp sour cream 1/4 c heavy whipping cream or milk 4 oz cream cheese 1 tbsp of garlic pepper or Asil Rutabaga Pudding 1 large or 2 rutabagas 2 tbs butter 1 tsp monk fruit sugar (optional) 1 tsp granulated sugar (or you can use a total of 2 tbsp of one over the other) 1 tsp ground ginger 1 tbsp of garlic pepper or Asil 1/4 c heavy whipping cream or milk1/4 c croutons 1/4 c cooked quinoa (optional) 1 beaten egg Instructions for Mashed Turnips Cover the chopped turnips with water and boil until they become very soft. Strain all the water and mash them all together. Add the butter, sugar, sour cream, heavy whipping cream, cream cheese, seasonings. Mix them together until all the ingredients are well married together. Plate with a delicious vegetable like spinach and chicken, serve and enjoy! Instructions for the Rutabaga Pudding Preheat the oven to 350 Cover the chopped rutabagas with water and boil until they become very soft. Strain all the water and mash them all together. Add the butter, sugar ginger, seasonings, heavy whipping cream, quinoa and egg. Mix them all together until the ingredients become one. Add the croutons and quinoa. Spoon into a greased pan and bake for 45 minutes. If the dish is too dense, add additional milk or heavy whipping cream, and/butter Remove from oven, let it cool off and then enjoy!
