This video was taken with a special camera scope of the inside of a patients bladder while a Foley or Indwelling bladder catheter was in place. The bladder injuries are significant and occur regularly from bladder catheterization. ALWAYS resist a physician, surgeons or nurses suggestion for urinary bladder catheterization. While doctors, surgeons and nurses simply love the convenience of not having to assist patients to the restroom or change sheets or bedpans, the patient's own health should over-ride those unethical medical 'professionals'. So ALWAYS OPT-OUT of bladder catheterization unless absolutely medically necessary (rare). But keep in mind that many surgeons intentionally don't inform patients and then cath them after anesthesia. So prior to surgery make your opt-out notice clear to surgeon, nurses, staff and your family. Otherwise you will likely be subjected to their risky standard procedures (including these damaging bladder catheterizations - also called Foley and Indwelling cath's)
