Audi owns Ducati, so we thought we'd take the two mainstream sports products from both of their respective ranges and see how they get on, head-to-head. In the four-wheeled corner, then, the Audi R8. Not the Plus version, just the regular R8, with four-wheel drive, launch control, and a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine to be getting on with. And in the two-wheeled lane, a Ducati Panigale V4. The new four-cylinder sports bike from Ducati, which has only 1103cc, but still pushes out 211bhp. And it, too, has launch control. Goody gumdrops.
