This week we got a question from one of our viewers, "What’s the typical cost difference to do centralized lighting vs a wireless solution?" In this video we look at the actual cost of both Wireless and Panelized lighting and discuss which is actually more expensive. The answer might surprise you. Be sure to join our club for more great content and help. Best part it's free! Just go to http://tym.link/Club The assumption for years has been that wireless lighting is thousands of dollars less than panelized lighting. And actually the cost savings is relatively small. What's really driving cost, is the volume of switches and dimmers in the home. If you're planning to control all the lighting in your home, and have in the ball park of 50 switches and dimmers, you'll save about $3,000 using a wireless solution. If your home is approaching 85-95 light switches and dimmers, you'll actually save around $2,000 in hardware on a Panelized system. That number may seem high, but if you consider ALL the lights in your home, as well as Ceiling Fans, Bathroom Fans, Linear Lighting, Exterior Lighting, etc, you can get to 85-95 dimmers and switches in a hurry. Some AV Companies push back and argue it's more because of programming. In the video I discuss why my own opinion is that programming Wireless and Panelized is more similar in your average installation.
