Pete Johnson, the brilliant blender and marketing genius that he is, developed a really interesting band for this one which says Tobacconists' Association of Mexico as a nod to the country because that's where the wrapper leaf is from: it's a Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper. The Tatuaje TAA 51st celebrates and recognizes the Tobacconists' Association of America (TAA) organization's 51 years in existence. This is a huge accomplishment and is well-deserving of a special cigar. This is the 9th consecutive TAA release from Tatuaje and, just like last year's 50th release, this one comes in a 5" x 52 box-pressed Robusto format. The big difference is that Tatuaje swapped out the wrapper for a dark Mexican San Andrés, which they have never done before. The mix of Nicaraguan filler/binder tobaccos and the Mexican San Andrés wrapper give this cigar a powerful full body.
