Also, please try to watch the video in its entirety before commenting as I’m noticing a lot of people are misunderstanding what I’ve expressed. This is simply my opinion on how people are reacting to the announcement, particularly women with 4c hair. I don't doubt that Fenty's hair care products are great, but I want us to remember that there's a difference between a brand that is inclusive and a brand that addresses a specific community's needs. One is broad and the other is niche. Because Rihanna is a black woman, I believe there is this assumption that she will produce products specific to our needs. However, as a business woman she has made it so that her brand is for everyone. This means, more addressable consumers and more money. Not saying there's anything wrong with this, but I do believe if this is a problem for those who were hoping to have seen something specifically dedicated to black women and type 4 hair, there dollars should be spent elsewhere rather than dragging the brand for being what they always have been: for everyone.
