Chest Pleural Drainage is a procedure used to drain pneumothoraces or effusions from the intrathoracic space. A regular blood test is performed before the procedure to plan the course of the procedure properly. Some medications may be discontinued by the doctor a few days before the procedure. To get access to the pleural space, the doctor makes an incision. The doctor next inserts a chest tube through the incision side to remove the fluid. The chest tube is frequently connected to the drainage container by the doctor. To remove fluid or blood more effectively, connect the container to a suction device. When chest tubes are no longer required, they are removed. The entire treatment takes one hour. Following the surgery, you may be required to stay in the hospital overnight for observation, and follow-up appointments may be required. #ManipalHospitalBengaluru #LifesOn #ChestPleuralDrainage #PleuralDrainageCare #FluidReleaseProcedure #BreathEasyRecovery #RecoveryThroughDrainage
