The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti (Water Resources) in accordance with new guidelines. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, and Minister for Public Health Engineering Kanhaiyalal. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma reiterated his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Chief Minister stated that, keeping the interests of the state's citizens in mind, the State Government had requested the Central Government to facilitate this initiative under the Jal Jeevan Mission; the MoU was subsequently signed following the receipt of approval from the Centre. This MoU marks a significant initiative aimed at strengthening the water supply infrastructure within the state and ensuring the availability of clean drinking water to every household. Enhanced coordination between the Centre and the State is expected to accelerate the progress of the Mission. Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti V.
