Starting off chilly but bright for much of the UK bar far western fringes of England, Northern Ireland and Scotland. Turning cloudier from the west as the day progresses with outbreaks of rain, heavy at times affecting the southwest of England and western Wales. Much of eastern England and Scotland should remain dry and clear into the afternoon.
